Features

Typically a steeply pitched roof with cross gables. What really denotes a Stick Victorian is the use of decorative trusses at the top of the gables and horizontal, vertical, or diagonal patterns of boards on the exterior. This style had rafters exposed, reinforcing the stick-like decorative patterns. While you can find some elaborate examples of Stick Victorians, this style often suggests they are the practical older sister of the Victorian family.
