Colonial Revival
History
This style is one of the most popular styles in Omaha and nationally as well. The architectural details are symmetrical, with an emphasis on the front door. Often the doors have a decorative crown (with a scrolled design) or a front entry supported by slender pillars. The windows are frequently present in adjacent pairs. These homes are often what you think of when you picture a stately older home. They’re two stories, and can be wood or brick exterior. The roof’s ridge pole typically runs parallel to the street, and dormers are not uncommon.
