Chateauesque homes are quite rare, primarily because the cost to build was so high. They’re characterized by extremely detailed stone work and a busy, steeply pitched roof, with lots of spires, dormers, gables, turrets, etc. A good example in Omaha is the Wattles Residence at 320 S. 37th Street.
